Ancient Persian Medicine Reawakened: The Return of Sacred Healing
A Family of Healers: Our Persian Roots
Persian medicine, one of the world’s oldest and most sophisticated traditional systems, has always understood that lasting healing is a conversation with the body, grounded in ritual, remembrance, and ancestral wisdom. But we didn’t read about it in a book or learn about it in medical school—it was passed down directly to us through generations of love and loss.
Yet like so many, we drifted from those roots—placing our trust wholeheartedly in the white coat, believing modern medicine alone held all the answers. Over time, we realized something essential had been lost: the intimate connection to nature, to our own bodies, and to the healing practices that had sustained generations before us.
Back in our heritage, healing ran in the family, with several ancestors known for their knowledge of herbal medicine. People would seek them out for individualized remedies and plant-based care. Our shared childhood memories are imbued with the remedies our mother and grandmother made for us when we panicked, had stomach aches, or simply needed something to lift our spirits. These plant-based treatments gave us the gentle soothing we needed, not just for our bodies but also for our souls.
Being cared for with local herbs shaped our belief in the power of plants, but as life carried us further from those traditions, we began to yearn for what we had lost. This Gold Label line is our return—a luxurious revival of the medicines that sustained our family for generations, brought forward with the same reverence and quality that once grounded our daily lives.
Today, we invite you to join us on a journey back to those roots, celebrating the rich heritage of Persian medicine and embracing three exquisite offerings that honor the sacred botanicals of our childhood. Launching this Friday, August 8, the Gold Label collection honors this heritage by bringing the potency of these profoundly healing plants into your daily rituals with ease.
Introducing the Wild Wholistic Gold Label Line
This luxury botanical collection was born out of our deepest roots: our Persian ancestry, a healing family legacy, and a lifelong commitment to creating Earth medicines that are pure, potent, and uncompromising in quality. While our core product offerings already draw on ancestral wisdom and synergistic formulations inspired by Persian, Eastern, and Western medicine, the Gold Label line pays homage to the most sacred healing plants of our childhood — time-honored remedies that carried us through moments of joy, discomfort, and recovery.
Long before herbalism made its return to the mainstream, our mothers and grandmothers instinctively reached for these remedies – rose teas to calm the heart, saffron to lift the spirit, and date palm pollen to nourish vitality. These preparations transformed love into action, rooted in generations of knowing. Now it’s our turn to take what was once personal and do everything in our power to make it universal. These blends bridge past and present, heritage and healing.
We welcome you to accompany us on this journey as we embark on a revival of folk medicine, born from ancient roots and crafted with sacred potency and purity. Our three new herbal offerings are for those who seek healing that is not only effective but also deeply meaningful. You deserve access to the world’s most beautiful and intentional plant medicines. We hope these botanical gifts inspire a return to your eternal home – yourself – using the Persian Medicine-inspired staples from the natural world in ours.
What Is Persian Medicine?
Persian medicine is one of the world’s oldest holistic health systems, blending ancient Persian wisdom with insights from Zoroastrian healing arts, Greek, Roman, and Indian traditions. Its approach is deeply preventative, focusing on maintaining balance between body, mind, and environment through food, herbs, lifestyle, and emotional well-being. While ancient in origin, these principles remain highly relevant today: caring for the nervous system, supporting digestion, balancing hormones, and using natural botanicals to restore vitality.
Historically practiced by legendary physicians like Ibn Sina (known in the West as Avicenna), Persian medicine emphasizes personalized care — what you eat, how you sleep, the climate you live in, and even your emotional state are all part of your unique health picture. Persian medicine flourished between the 8th and 13th centuries as a synthesis of empirical observation and spiritual practice. Ibn Sina was one of history’s most outstanding physicians and philosophers. His five-volume Canon of Medicine organized centuries of medical knowledge. It introduced advanced clinical concepts, including contagious disease theory, quarantine practices, and the importance of psychological health on physical well-being.
Avicenna emphasized that medicine must treat the patient as a whole, stating:
“The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore, the physician must start from nature, with an open mind.”
Avicenna codified this wisdom in writing, shaping European medical education for over 500 years and forming the foundation for many principles still recognized today, such as preventive care, the role of lifestyle in disease, and the use of botanical medicines. The Canon of Medicine remained a core medical text at European and Middle Eastern universities until the 17th century. In cities like Baghdad, Ray, and Isfahan, bimaristans (hospitals) served as teaching centers where physicians combined surgical techniques with holistic care, observing pulse, urine, temperament, and environment to tailor treatments. This emphasis on personalization and preventive care laid the foundation for many of the principles we still honor today.
Core Principles of Healing & Persian Medicine Today
At the heart of Persian Medicine lies humoral theory: health is equilibrium among four humors — blood (dam), phlegm (balgham), yellow bile (safra), and black bile (sauda) — each corresponding to qualities of hot, cold, dry, or moist. Your unique mizaj (temperament) determines which foods, environments, and remedies will restore balance.
Complementing humoral balance are the Six Essential Factors (Asbab-e Sitta Zaruriyah):
- Air (quality of climate and ventilation)
- Food & drink (nutritional and humoral effects)
- Sleep & wakefulness
- Motion & rest
- Retention & evacuation
- Emotional states
In practice, ritual becomes a deliberate act that engages all senses. Whether you begin your day with dry-brushing and deep breaths in the garden or conclude it with a heart-opening cup of tea, these rituals honor your body’s innate intelligence and create the container for healing.
Even simple practices inspired by Persian medicine can help you feel more balanced today: starting your morning with a calming herbal tea, eating seasonal whole foods, practicing daily breathing or gentle movement, and creating small rituals of stillness. These time-tested approaches bring harmony to modern life while honoring ancient wisdom.
While the history of Persian medicine spans several thousand years, it remains highly relevant for modern wellness. Many of its core principles — supporting emotional balance, caring for digestion, harmonizing sleep, and using plant-based remedies — mirror what today’s functional and holistic health practitioners recommend. Whether using herbs to calm the nervous system, focusing on seasonal nutrition, or incorporating daily rituals to reduce stress, Persian medicine offers timeless whole-person wellness practices that feel surprisingly aligned with current scientific “discoveries.” It’s an ancient framework with a stunning number of current applications for gut health, hormone balance, emotional resilience, and overall vitality.
Sacred Remedies from the Persian Apothecary
Below, meet the three newest offerings from our Gold Label collection. Each formula is a bridge between past and present, crafted with uncompromising purity and designed as a ritual companion for your modern life.
Ingredients: Organic Damask rose, cardamom, premium saffron threads
In Persian culture, rose tea is synonymous with heart-opening devotion, cardamom soothes both digestion and spirit, and saffron — known as “red gold” — lifts mood and clarity. Drinking this tea is a slow ritual: inhale the floral bouquet, cradle the warm cup, and sip mindfully.
A 2019 meta-analysis of 11 trials (n≈600) confirmed that saffron supplementation significantly reduces symptoms of mild-to-moderate depression. To put this in perspective, that is comparable to many common antidepressants, and can be taken without dulling your vitality. Cardamom’s warming properties support gastrointestinal comfort and gently stimulate circulation, with emerging science increasingly validating its calming and gut-supportive effects. Damask rose extracts have been shown to exhibit anxiolytic and antidepressant effects, likely via modulation of serotonergic pathways. The therapeutic applications of rose are nearly endless (the essential oil, its extract, and numerous other preparations), with potential uses in the treatment of seizures and diabetes, as well as skin care and overall vitality.
Ritual Suggestion: Begin each morning with Serene Soul Tea. As steam rises, set an intention: “May my heart remain open, my mind clear, my faith unwavering, and my soul grounded.”
Ingredient: 100% pure Crocus sativus stigma (Grade A top-quality)
Saffron is so ubiquitously woven into Persian culture, cuisine, medicine, and ceremony that its vibrant red stigmas symbolize vitality and joy for people throughout the world. The scientific community, trailing far behind the ancestral traditions that have protected and relied on saffron for centuries, is starting to pay more attention to these incredible yet tiny threads. In 2024, Yale University published a systematic review affirming saffron’s antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective actions. It should be noted that saffron may also modulate the HPA axis and increase brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels, supporting resilience under stress. And earlier this year (in March 2025), Oxford Academic’s Nutrition Reviews shared a groundbreaking meta-analysis suggesting that saffron could rival selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) for depression and anxiety relief, with fewer or no side effects.
Ritual Suggestion: On days when the world feels heavy, prepare yourself a saffron infusion. Grind a few threads, add 1-2 ice cubes, and allow them to melt slowly; then witness the blooming transformation. This liquid spun gold is a daily act of self-honoring. Use the golden infusion in tea, milk, or food. The traditional method preserves the full aroma and potency. Hold the cup to your lips, close your eyes, and breathe in saffron’s color, scent, and sacredness.
Ingredient: Finely milled Phoenix dactylifera flower pollen
Called “the dust of vitality,” date palm pollen has long been prized as a fertility and endurance tonic. Growing up among date palm groves, with one of our father’s businesses focused on bringing some of the finest dates in the world to market, gave our family an intimate understanding of the palm tree’s life-giving properties—its date pollen often featured in celebratory recipes and daily remedies alike. In our family, it graced celebratory recipes and daily remedies alike — a reminder of the palm tree’s many generous gifts. Date palm pollen (DPP) contains amino acids, flavonoids, saponins, and phytoestrogens that support reproductive health. A 2015 review in The Journal of Evidence-Based & Complementary Medicine, authored by researchers at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, examined its traditional use as an aphrodisiac and fertility enhancer in both men and women. At Iran’s Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, faculty members conducted a fascinating clinical study in 2023, reporting that DPP supplementation significantly improved sperm count, morphology, and motility in infertile men, attributing these positive effects, in part, to its antioxidant and gonadotropic compounds.
Ritual Suggestion: Pre-mix 2 tbs of Ethereal Essence with 16 oz of honey. Take 1 Tbsp of the mix in the morning and one at night. Alternatively, you can add ½ tsp to your choice of drink or food once a day. From fertility preparation to daily vitality support, this is a luxurious, functional ritual for those seeking to restore balance, resilience, and vibrancy from the inside out.
We live in an age of speed and distraction, yet our bodies remember a different rhythm, one paced by breath, ceremony, and the cycles of nature. The Wild Wholistic Gold Label line is an invitation to

return, sit, sip, breathe, and remember the ancient wisdom that dwells within you.
